About Us

At Joy And Ink, we believe that support shouldn’t end when hospital care does. Founded in memory of Jai, a courageous young man who dreamed of becoming a pediatric nurse but passed away from brain cancer at only 19, our mission is to bridge the gap in care for families navigating the journey of a critically or terminally ill child. Inspired by Jai’s legacy, his uncle Damon Henson created Joy And Ink to provide ongoing emotional, mental, and social support long after hospital doors close.

Through Arts In Medicine, Geek Therapy, and Resilience Training, we bring moments of joy, strength, and connection to families when they need it most. Whether it’s a hospital Mini-Con with superheroes, one-on-one wellness visits, an unforgettable Comic-Con experience, or critical mental health resources, we are here to uplift, empower, and remind families that they are not alone.

Joy And Ink is more than a non-profit—it’s a community of hope, healing, and shared strength. With the support of our volunteers, donors, and corporate partners, we continue to expand our reach, ensuring that every family facing a critical illness has the support they deserve.
